Make Them Feel Important
Adolescent self esteem is basically about how good and adolescent would feel about himself; an adolescent who feels good about himself, his surroundings, education, and a lot more can be considered as someone with self esteem. Self esteem is important for building character, for making them do better at school, and to train them to face a larger scope later on when they grow up.
With that, you can make them feel important in a lot of ways. This does not mean that you will be spoiling them all the time rather, in your own ways as a responsible parent, you should know what steps to take to make your adolescent feel that he or she is important to you.
Encourage Active Participation In School Activities
In the context of adolescent self esteem, those who are popular in school have the highest amounts of self esteem. With that, help your child be popular or if not, at least encourage him or her to participate in extra curricular school activities. These activities will teach them a lot of things such as teamwork, friendship, hardwork, leadership, responsibility, and a lot more.
While these are important, make sure that your child does not forget what he or she is in school for, which is academics.
Pay Extra Attention To Performance In School

Sometimes, adolescents might not be too good in areas. You can tell them just to pay extra attention to their weak areas and develop them if they want to excel in all areas. Also, never fail to give them constant encouragement all the way.
